From The Secret Daily Teachings

"Change in a country begins with one person. Each country reflects the inner peace or turmoil of its mass population, and so as one person changes they affect the rest of the population. One person has the power within them to bring massive change to their country through immense love and peace within themselves. But we cannot bring about peace and well-being to our country unless we have conquered that in our own life. Do you see? You cannot give what you do not have.
Each person's job is to bring utter harmony into their own life, and then they will become the greatest human gift for their country and the world." Rhonda Byrne - The Secret

Algae Can Perk Up Tired Pooches

German Scientists have developed pet food containing Spirulina algae, which has proven to have a positive effect on the acid-base balance on the animal’s body. It can neutralise free radicals and offers a high level of protection from so-called lifestyle diseases. Prof. Dr. Dr. Otto Putz, Expert for Microalgal Biotechnology in Potsdam, Germany explains: Dogs suffering from arthrosis or osteoarthritis have better movement very quickly. Also, the immune system of dogs, cats und horses will improve. Fur, bones, teeth, horn and skin of the tested animals have shown a substantial improvement, after being fed the green health food. The algae are harvested in Twin Taung crater lake at the foot of the Himalaya mountains, sun dried and then processed into chips. Just a few grams per day, as a supplement to conventional food, can be enough to protect our pets from ulcers, diabetes, obesity and joint problems.

It's A Girl ...

A lady in her early 40s came to see me because she was desperate for a second child. After three miscarriages she had almost lost her hope for a baby girl. She booked a course of acupuncture treatment, one hour per week. After two months she fell pregnant. She continued her treatments for another four months, to make sure the body wouldn't reject the foetus again. Now, she is in week 23, carrying a baby girl and very happy!

From The Secret Daily Teachings

"The tighter you try and hold on to something that you are afraid of losing, the more you are pushing it away. Those thoughts are filled with fear, and if you continue to persist, what you fear the most will come upon you.
Fear nothing - just think about what you want. It feels so much better!"

Maintain your wellness

Each year we are obliged to take our cars for an MOT; it gets a thorough health check, and if something is wrong, we get it fixed right away before it becomes a real problem.
But when it comes to our own health we seem to be far less disciplined.  We tend only to see a doctor or therapist when we feel something isn’t right, or we have some specific symptom or other. In fact sometimes we can even find ourselves creating a reason to see them, as we feel we cannot waste their time unless we have a very specific symptom.

This can lead to our not seeing someone without first feeling an obligation to have a specific problem beforehand.
Why then do we not give ourselves at least as much attention as we would give to our car by having a regular “Wellbeing MOT” ourselves?

An hour and a half of “me” time can leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed afterwards, without having the pressure to have something “wrong” with you.

Why not book a regular Wellbeing MOT which includes:
-          Gentle Spinal Therapy and Back/Neck/Shoulder massage
-          Foot massage
-          Re-establishing your emotional balance
(using techniques like Psychological Kinesiology, EFT etc)
-          Acupuncture (if required)

You determine how often you want to enjoy 90 minutes of me-time: once a year (Bronze standard), every 6 (Silver) or 3 months (Gold).

The fees are as follows:
Bronze   £60
Silver     £110
Gold      £200

To book and for further information, please visit my website www.monikabecker.co.uk or phone 07742-982757.

Why Men Appear To Be Deaf While Reading ...

Breakfast time can be daunting for many couples - he is hiding behind his newspaper, she wants to talk. Psychologists at the University in Jena/Germany seem to have found an explanation why men cannot hear their beloved while reading their newspaper: The human brain  processes acoustic stimuli automatically, however, this is not the case when we are distracted. If the additional input exceeds a certain level, the focus on the visual information will block out the social stimulus completely. The brain does not have any capacity left to absorb and process the "excess" information. Therefore, even an angry voice will sounds neutral in that state. The scientists point out, however, this is does not happen exclusively to men. Also women can be affected ... yeah ... right :)

From The Secret Daily Teachings

"People go through their whole lives, chasing everything in the material world, and they fail to discover the greatest treasure of all, which is within them. Shut your eyes to the outside world. Direct your thoughts and words to the inside of you. The Master within you is the key to all the treasures in the world."

Caffeine Can Affect Muscle Function

Clinical trials carried out at the Ioannina University in Greece revealed that the consumption of too many fluids containing caffeine - such as coffee, tea, Coca Cola and energy drinks - can have a negative impact on the function of the muscles in the human body. The reason is that caffeine reduces the level of potassium. This may lead to cramps, paralytic symptoms, exhaustion and even heart problems.

Emotional Freedom Technique and Psychological Kinesiology Success Stories

A lovely lady suggested that I share a few case studies from my work with EFT and Psychological Kinesiology (Klinghardt Method). The combination of these two amazing methods has proven extremely beneficial in the treatment of fears and phobias, with quick results. In some cases, regression to a past life was carried out (with the client's consent) to find out where the phobia came from.

- An eight year old boy was afraid of water, especially that his head might go under the surface. He also had problems with wetting the bed. The reason for his fear was found in a past life where he was subjected to torture. After two hourly sessions he was comfortable with water and did not wet the bed anymore.

- A 12 year old boy was afraid of dogs. After one session he was not afraid anymore and wanted a doggy of his own.

- A young man in his late 20s was terrified of wasps. He runs his own cafe with lovely cakes, and wasps are an 'occupational hazard', as they say. He never got stung, and the reason for his fear could be found in a past life. After one hour treatment he was fine, and wasps are no longer making his daily life hell.

- A gentleman in his early 40s was unhappy as he could not find "the right woman". During the session he regressed to a past life where he had found and sadly lost love. We disconnected him from this traumatic experience and a few months after his treatment he found happiness.

Many people are very sceptical about past-life therapy. Some feel uncomfortable and fear that they might discover something "horrible" or "terrifying". So far, I had one case where the client chose to go to the "darkest corner" of his past. He was a highly intelligent, but troubled young man with a liking for the dark forces. He regressed to a past as a medieval sorcerer with no good intentions and was publicly executed as a result. He chose to go through the regression and found the whole experience very exciting. This experience changed his life - he embarked on a completely different way of life, studied hard and is now a successful graduate engineer.

Stop Smoking - Please Your Heart!

Cardiologists at the Universitätsklinikum Schleswig-Holstein have found out that giving up smoking has an immediate, positive effect on the heart. An improvement is already noticeable soon after the last cigarette. The risk of a heart attack is decreased after 12 months, which is faster than previously expected. The average blood pressure of the tested smokers came down from 149/88 to 129/81 mmHg, the total cholesterol sank from 6.2 to 5.2. The risk of cancer, however, diminishes after several years. More reason to stop smoking NOW!

Acupuncture can help to conceive!

Acupuncture has come more and more into focus for being able to assist couples who are facing problems with conceiving. The number of women who come into my practice for fertility treatment has increased noticeably during the past two years. Some of them chose to have alternative treatment instead of IVF, others "support" IVF with acupuncture. The treatment involves just a few needles in the appropriate acupuncture points, accompanied by a gentle, soothing foot massage. And - it is much cheaper and less intrusive than IVF!
However, it is not always women who benefit from the treatment. Men with a low sperm count or other problems with their "masculinity" can be treated.

From The Secret Daily Teachings

"What is the most powerful thing you can add to the process of creating what you want? Ask for others as you ask for yourself. An easy way to do this is to ask for ALL, which of course includes you. Ask for a good life for all, peace for all, abundance for all, health for all, love for all, and happiness for all.
When you ask for others, it comes back to you, so the law has it ALL covered."

From The Secret Daily Teachings

"To understand the power and the magic of gratitude, you have to experience it for yourself. So why not begin by deciding to find 100 things a day to be grateful for?
If you practice gratitude every day it won't take long before gratitude is your natural state of being, and when that happens you will have unlocked one of the greatest secrets to life."

Friends Are The Best Medicine!

Regular Exercise, a sensible diet and staying away from nicotine are considered to be an essential part of a healthy lifestyle. However, this holds true only for those who also have friends. Lonely people are likely to have a shorter life expectancy. In fact, their life expectancy is that of heavy smokers. Research has revealed that the saliva and urine of people who feel lonely contain high levels of stress hormones, such as cortisol and noradrenaline.
Having friends has lots of advantages. On a physical level, it has a positive impact on the heart and blood vessels as well as on the immune system. Moreover, positive feelings can be contagious, as found out by researchers at the universities of San Diego and Harvard in the USA. "Those who are in the company of many contented and happy people will be happier, too. Good feelings seem to be a collective phenomenon and tend to spread out in the company of like-minded people." is the verdict of the researchers.

A Good Description Of Holistic Medicine ...

I am reading a superb book at the moment, with the title "It Must Be My Hormones" by Dr. Marion Gluck and Vicki Edgson (ISBN 978-0-718-15430-1 by Penguin). This is a short chapter from the beginning of the book which describes very well the term "Heilpraktiker" which is the qualification I earned in Germany before coming to England.
"Opening my eyes - As a young doctor in Germany I would occasionally trade the stress and excitement of the emergency room for the plodding predictability of a GP's office where I would work as a locum. It was during this time that I became aware of the role of Heilpraktiker. These German healers-cum-naturopaths where not, unlike their colleagues in other developed countries, marvelled at and then belittled by patients as just another breed of strange fish in the medical sea. On the contrary, many German patients would see their Heilpraktiker even before they'd see their GP.
The fact that German patients regularly visited their naturopath didn't mean that they shunned conventional doctors, or that they blindly placed their faith in that one form of treatment. It just meant that they sought what they considered to be a more natural and less invasive solution. Naturopathy to them was not a replacement for conventional medicine as such, but rather provided another perspective on it.
By this time, I'd been exposed to the hospital environment long enough to become familiar with some of conventional medicine's biggest shortcomings. My first experiences of being a doctor were the medical profession's overly black-and-white approaches to decidedly grey problems. It began to irk me the way body parts were treated in isolation, with no consideration of the effects on other parts, as if they were all chopped up and organised neatly on a doctor's desk. Thus, curious and already somewhat disillusioned with the medical franchise as it was, I paid a great deal of attention to what those naturopaths were up to.
What I found was something that provided a fantastic complement to conventional medicine - a whole bunch of issues would be addressed while adding a pinch of that which is often sorely lacking in medicine: common sense. I had found myself on the path to integrative and holistic medicine.
This type of medicine is labelled 'integrative' because it feeds on the largest possible pool of medical knowledge. It combines the relatively new techniques of orthodox Western medicine with those of homoeopathy or traditional Chinese medicine, whose proven efficacy does not come from wildly expensive, large-scale drug-company-funded studies but from thousands of years of implementation and success. And it's called holistic because it considers the effects of treatments in terms of the entire body, rather than the body's isolated parts."

Lip Herpes – Plant Remedy is worth a try

It starts with a slight tingle – very often you wake up in the morning with a big blister on your lip. The Herpes Virus which has been dormant in your body has been activated and causes swelling and blistering on the lips, and very often swollen lymph glands in the lower jaw area. Several people here in England who have been “plagued“ by Herpes Simplex or cold sores for long years have benefited from a purely herbal remedy based on the principles of Spagyrics, an ancient therapy form which can be traced back to the Swiss healer and scientist Paracelsus. The course of treatment consists of two different remedies in liquid form, which complement each other and are designed to kill the dormant Herpes virus in the human body.
Spagyric remedies have been used effectively in Germany, Switzerland and Austria for a long time, but unfortunately are not acknowledged as a drug here in England.
