Happy News

In September 2012, a lady booked an appointment with me as one of her friends had recommended me to her. Aged 44, she had a history of multiple miscarriages which always happened 6-8 weeks into the pregnancies. Her friend who mentioned me to her was already having fertility treatment in my clinic at that time.
She started treatment right away, with one session per week. In January 2013 she told me she was pregnant. We continued with weekly treatment sessions until we passed the critical first trimester. She decided to carry on with the treatment and I saw her every two weeks. When she was almost 7 months pregnant, she decided to stop treatments and in October 2013 she gave birth to a healthy, beautiful baby girl.
Her friend who had started treatment with me a few weeks earlier also gave birth to a gorgeous little girl, one month before her.

These are just two of the success stories from my practice – and very happy ones, indeed.
Although I offer a wide variety of treatments - I must say that helping women to get pregnant is lovely and so rewarding.

The "Forgotten" Vitamin

Not many of us may know the importance of vitamin K for our bodies. It not only regulates blood clotting, but it also activates osteogenesis (bone formation) and can prevent osteoporosis and even certain types of cancer. Vitamin K stops the calcium in the blood to accumulate in the arteries and build up fatal plaque, thus keeping our blood vessels clean.
Green leafy vegetables - especially kale - and salads are a good source of Vit K and help to prevent a lack of this vitamin. However, if you suffer from osteoporosis already it is worth trying a Vitamin K supplement, in combination with a diet that is low in acidity.
Patients who are taking blood-thinning medication, however, should not take this vitamin without consulting their GP!

Fertility Treatment May Be More Affordable Than You Think ...

I am happy to announce that two baby girls were born this autumn, after their mums had a course of fertility treatment with me. The treatment typically involves acupuncture, gentle stimulation and massage of reflex points of the feet and sometimes the support of plant and mineral supplements. Relaxation is a vital part, as well.
The most important question for many is - how much will the treatment cost? Of course, it depends on how long the body needs to be ready to conceive. Most of my lady clients fell pregnant after about 5 to 6 months from the start of the treatment, with one session every 7 to 10 days. Usually, we continue treatment for the first 3 months of pregnancy, some women stay on for longer.
My fee at the moment is £50 per treatment session and I offer a 10% reduction for a course of 10 treatments when paid in advance, that means you get 10 treatments and only pay for nine.
Please feel free to get in touch if you are interested in fertility treatment. I am happy to help.

Painful Hips

Recurring pain in the hips are often a sign of acidaemia (hyperacidity of the blood) caused by certain foods (white flour, white sugar, animal protein, Monosodium Glutamate, stock cubes etc) or by drinking not enough water. Try a few days without these "non-foods" and see if the hips are less painful. Also, the dark shadows around the eyes, the back pain and the constant tiredness, connected to an over-acidity of the blood, are very likely to disappear.

Welcome ...

I would like to welcome two new little ones into this world! After successful fertility treatment, two proud mums have birth to baby girls - lovely C. was born in September and lovely J. in October! I love my job :)

Magnesium Can Help Migraine Sufferers

Migraine can have many causes, but in most cases the magnesium level in the blood of migraine sufferers is far lower than normal, as was found out by researchers at the Medical University in Tabriz/Iran. The magnesium deficiency triggers a constriction of blood vessels in the brain. This constriction increases the sensibility of nerve cells to chemical messengers such as serotonin, thus triggering the migraine attacks.
Foods such as whole grains, green leafy vegetables, legumes and pulses as well as fish are good sources for magnesium.
The recommended daily intake for an adult is around 400 mg.

"Oil Swishing" is good for the gums ...

In Indian Ayurveda, oil swishing, i.e. rinsing the mouth with cold-pressed oils, is used to treat a variety of ailments. Wikipedia describes it as follows: "Oil pulling or oil swishing is a traditional Indian folk remedy that involves swishing oil in the mouth. It is mentioned in the Ayurvedic text Charaka Samhita where it is called Kavala Gandoosha or Kavala Graha. Ayurvedic literature describes oil pulling as capable of both improving oral health and treating systemic diseases such as diabetes mellitus or asthma. While scientific evidence is lacking to support any systemic benefits of oil pulling, some studies have suggested that it may reduce oral plaque, halitosis (bad breath) and gingivitis (inflammation of the gum tissue)."
Whereas the treatment of diabetes mellitus or asthma needs to be investigated further, the German Green Cross recommends to treat bleeding gums by slowly swishing 1-2 tablespoons of cold-pressed sunflower oil  around in your mouth for 15 minutes. After that, spit out the oil, rinse your mouth with warm water and then brush your teeth as usual. It is best to do this procedure regularly in the mornings, before breakfast. Doing the whole thing again in the evening, before bedtime, increases the benefits of the treatment. You will notice an improvement of your gum health after 1 to 2 weeks already.
